Welcome to Tanzania!
- Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by your Almasi Africa guide.
- Transfer to Arusha for your overnight stay, which will be the starting point of your Tanzanian adventure.
- Accommodation: Check-in at your hotel in Arusha and relax. You’ll have the evening at leisure to enjoy the local sights and sounds of Arusha.
Elephant Safari
- Early morning breakfast and departure for Tarangire National Park, a place of incredible beauty, known for its large elephant herds and unique landscapes, dominated by massive baobab trees.
- Enjoy a full day of game drives, looking for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and a wide range of birdlife.
- The park’s seasonal swamps attract an array of wildlife, making it a perfect spot for safari photography and wildlife observation.
Lunch: Picnic in the park, surrounded by nature.
- Evening game drive before heading to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Cultural Immersion
- After breakfast, travel to Lake Eyasi, a remote and culturally rich area home to the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes.
- Spend the day with these fascinating, indigenous groups.
- Hadzabe Tribe: Learn about their ancient traditions, hunting techniques, and lifestyle. You’ll get a chance to observe their traditional ways of hunting with bows and arrows and even participate in a hunt (optional).
- Datoga Tribe: Visit their village to learn about their pastoralist lifestyle and their stunning beadwork, a staple of their culture.
Lunch: Traditional meal with the locals.
- Return to your accommodation for the evening.
Ngorongoro Crater Exploration
- After an early breakfast, head to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the world’s most unique ecosystems.
- Descend into the crater for a day of wildlife viewing. Ngorongoro is home to a dense concentration of wildlife, including the Big Five: lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinoceros, along with zebras, wildebeests, and gazelles.
- Lunch: A scenic picnic in the crater, where you can enjoy stunning views while having lunch surrounded by nature.
- After a full day of game viewing, ascend from the crater and head back to your accommodation for an overnight stay.
Arusha Town Tour
- On your final day, you’ll explore Arusha town, the vibrant gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.
- Morning: Start with a visit to the Cultural Heritage Centre, a gallery showcasing the rich art, culture, and heritage of Tanzania.
- Midday: Explore the Arusha National Park with a short game drive or a walk through the park. Arusha is known for its lush forests, wildlife, and the stunning views of Mount Meru.
- Afternoon: Visit the Maasai Market for souvenirs and authentic Maasai crafts.
- Enjoy a final dinner in town before being transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
- Departure: Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.
